The latest version of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop CS5, has been released today. The upgrade brings with it a host of new features and enhancements, including a new Creative Cloud subscription model, new tools, and enhanced performance. AppleInsider recently had a chance to take Photoshop CS5 for a test drive.

Adobe Photoshop was acquired by Adobe in 2010 and is now one of the largest image processing software applications in the world. It allows users to create, edit, organize, and share images. Photoshop has some of the most powerful editing tools available on any platform, allowing professionals to do just about everything on computers. It has features that are similar to other advanced image editing software programs such as CorelDraw, and it has a lot of advanced tools that professionals use. It is also free and is available for both Mac and Windows computers. As with all software, you should use this version at your own risk and always backup your files.

A hands-on review of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2021 reveals a powerful image-editing program at a very affordable price. Though it is designed to be a simple platform for hobbyists, “memory keepers” and digital scrapbookers who enjoy creating photo and video keepsakes of life events for family and friends, it’s relevant, in my opinion, for anyone with a camera. There are plenty of other useful features, too. Of particular note is the image browser, which allows you to automatically apply contrast, color, and sharpening to batches of images at a time. You can choose to display the rendered images using different color modes, and you can adjust your image sizes using the included crop tools. You can also add a mask to any of the images you select. In addition to the spell-check facilities already found in the software, there are red-eye reduction tools, a red-eye removal tool, face retouching tools, and face-recognition tools that digitize your face automatically so that Photoshop can correct those eye blemishes and fade the image.

Videos can be imported with ease using the included MPEG and MPEG-2 formats. A timeline assists you in assembling the clips and managing your work with ease. While you don’t have full control over the clip sizes, the program will suggest how you can compensate for this by trimming out excess video. It does this automatically for the briefer clips, and you can size them yourself for longer ones.

Adjustment Layers let you change the overall brightness, contrast, and exposure of your image. You also have a selection of ambient and appearance lighting filters to apply should you need more precision in your adjustments. You can also change the brightness/contrast for your image’s text, and any text layers you have applied. Gradient Layers let you create linear gradients to layer on top of your image. This tool is similar to the Gradient Tool in Photoshop .

The Filters feature in Photoshop provides you with easy access to some of the most popular tools found in a photo editing program. Using the Filters tab, you can apply brightness, contrast, and saturation adjustment tools to an image. There are also more sophisticated features, such as the ability to use clipping paths to isolate areas of an image, and the ability to create and use smart filters. The Filters tab also offers you multiple ways to apply effects to an image. For example, you can use the Adjustment layer to apply a variety of filters to a specific area of an image. The Adjustment layer lets you create a variety of effects on an image. You can use it to add vignettes, crop an image, or apply a distortion filter to the image.

This can be slightly overwhelming because there are a few different Creative Cloud plans to pick from according to what your area of interest is. First the ‘Photography’ plan which is $9.99/mo and grants you access to Adobe Photoshop and also Adobe Lightroom which is a program that allows for detailed photo editing. This is a great value considering the second option is $20.99/mo for use of only Photoshop. The third and final option which I think is the best option is the Student and Teacher plan that is $19.99/mo and includes access to everything Adobe has to offer. It is not too different from the GIMP and Paint Shop Pro because it consists of layers, filters, adjustments, and many other features. But, this software costs a fortune.
