I have long been mystified why people spend hours on the selection bubble options. In my experience in designing for the web, I’ve found that the best way to use it is hit and miss. Pencil eraser, alressors, polygonal lasso…what’s next? There are some really clever people but Adobe, it’s just about getting back to an approach that is more intuitive. What if you could pick a fixed area and pick an area around that and then rinse and repeat. The Aiassistant brush tools can do this brilliantly.
It’s the first tool that I’ve seen that is genuinely more intuitive than the selection tools. It makes the tool more honest and less redundant.
Now, if only I can see the effect it has on image quality (instead of just in Photoshop) I’ll be more than happy – kind of a prerequisite that I’m sure Adobe has met.
The next Gen features are very exciting but they need to be treated with the kind of honesty that the tool needs. It’s a very clever tool, it deserves better than it got.

There were a few hiccups. I tried to open my Photos folder in the photo manager and it wasn’t showing the photos. I had to go wait for them to download, which was slow. I started to think Adobe had ceased PS-E support. Perhaps they do, I’m not sure. But even after resolving the problem, I noticed my catalog was much quieter. It was really strange, given that most of the other major photo editors are getting bigger and louder. That said, I might revisit Elements in a year or so. It’s just so good for anyone who needs a good all-around tool that they don’t need anything more elaborate.

The Adobe Cloud Camera App has also received several updates to include RAW support, which enables importing and editing photos directly to a mobile device or computer from the cloud.
